I know two Halal restaurants near the Shangri-la Hotel: one is Sshitouniu Halal Restaurant at no. 3, Fushou Street, Renmin Street; the other is Yutai Hui Muslim Restaurant at no. 83, Jiqing Street. Both of them are within 5min walking distance from Shangri-la and their distance to the Intercontinenal Hotel is around 1.7km.

For shopping, I know the New World Mall, Kaisa Plaza and New-Mart Shopping Mall near Shangri-la. Near the other hotel, the Carrefour and Friendship Mall are available.

The Muslims in the city sometimes also wear scarf. It is not weird. Though, some young people may stare at you. And it is quite safe to walk on the street alone. Don't worry!
