About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

X2 Visa Renewal/Extension

I am currently in Beijing on an X2 for 31 days. 2 weeks after it expires I start a new course which is for 5 months. I will need to obtain a new X2 for my new course. Am I able to apply for the new one while in China? Or, could I send my passport home for a friend to apply for my new X2 and then send it back? I understand I would have to leave the country at some point to activate the new one. I just don't want to have to travel back to Australia to obtain.

Michael, you can't send your passport back home and apply for the X2 type. You can try to apply for another X2 type within mainland China by providing an invitation letter from the school. If you can get it sucessfully, you don't need to go back to Australia.
