in Transit i plan to visit Hong Kong too. how can i go with that and can i apply both together?

Lakmini, according to what I know, Chinese embassy in your country accepts HK entry permit applications. So I think you can apply both together. However, the requirements are a bit different. You have to sign ID1003A form and prepare two passport photos.
