Degree FOLLOWED BY two years of teaching experience?

All of my four years' ESL teaching was actually done BEFORE I obtained my degree. That is, I was able to teach ESL for about four years in both North America and in South Korea.

I didn't believe that the sequence mattered, but a fraudulent commission-hunting recruiter - posing as a government vocational school's in-house human resources recruiter - claims that I can't work in China on a Z type because my experience in ESL experience is not post-degree.

Is this true? It doesn't sound plausible, but he may be right. Must at least two years' experience be post-degree?

Scott, frankly speaking, I nener heard such requirement. As far as I see, the work experience before you got the degree counts. However, the recuiter may be right because the policies vary in different cities.

I do understand your other point, Edgar: interpretation of the rules may vary by jurisdiction. This position was in Beijing, apparently for a government institution.
