About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Passengers arriving by cruise and leaving by air in 36 hours. Do they qualify for the visa waiver?

I have a group of France and Netherlands nationals disembarking from a cruise in Shanghai and staying one night, departing at 1040pm the following day. They would be on the return journey home.

Sonia, they are eligible for the 24-hour transit permit waiver policy, so they don't need the transit permit. You are suggested to confirm this with Shanghai Immigration before setting out your trip.
