Can I bring a 3" pocket knife and key chain sized pepper spray in my checked bag?

Can I bring a Chinese block-style chef's knife from China back to US?
Can I bring 2 guitars, a hulusi, and a qin qin from China back to US?

Are there any special customs procedures for these items?

Cedric, pocket knife, chef's knife and peper spray are fine in your check-in luggage. However, if your musical instruments are precious, you might take it as part of your hand luggage. But I think you can only take one. The rest instruments should be regarded as check-in luggage. You need to pack them very well in case they are broken by the carriers.
