About:China Family Reunion Visa

Can I apply for Q1 in China while I sill have my work permit? Or I have to apply outside, like HK?

So I'm currently employed in China with a resident permit expiring on October. I have a wife who is Chinese citizen.

Harris, since you have valid resident permit for employment, I think you can try to apply for Q1 type at local entry and exit management bureau. There is a chance that you can apply without leaving as long as you hold long-term entry permit.

However, if the bureau still insists that you should apply abroad, then I think you might go back to your country to apply for Q1.
