About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Will a 72 hour visa be O.K? and if so, how do I apply for it?

We will arrive in Shanghai on September 27th by ship. Celebrity Millennium. We will stay for 2 nights, (Hotel also booked) and then fly to London on September 29th on Virgin Airlines VS 251. Tickets bought and paid for.

What forms are needed and can they be downloaded by computer, and what proof is needed for confirmation that the above is booked?

Eileen, you are not eligible for the 72 hour free transit because you enter China by cruise ship. You need to get a G type from the CVASC in UK. The application form can be downloaded from the website of CVASC. You need to provide your passport, recent photo, application form, and the ship and flight tickets.

Can this form be downloaded from a web site, if yes, what is the email address for CVASC. If the answer is no, where is the office for CVASC in London? Can I phone and ask for a form to be sent. Would photocopies of my ship and flight tickets be accepted? All I have is a written itinerary and not actual tickets.

Eileen, you can download if from the website of CVASC. By the way, the email address of London CVASC is ukcentrevisaforchina.org. You have to make an online appointment before heading to the center. The photocopies of ship and flight tickets are accepted. The itinerary is not required.
