How can I apply for visa in advance so that it is still valid when we enter China after 4 months?

I am planning to go to China for a 15 day holiday next year. Before going to China we will be travelling in Europe for 4 months.

I understand that the tourist type is valid for 90 days from the date of lodgement - so that rules out for us given that we will be in Europe for 4 months. However can I apply for 6 months one?
