About:Badaling Great Wall

Is it possible to watch the sunset on Great Wall? I see a couple of tours but over $300 for a couple

Well, it's unlikely that you can see the sunset in Badaling, Mutianyu, Jinshanling and other scenic areas. You know, the scenic areas are closed at 17:00 or 18:00. You are not able to enjoy the sunset. However, you can appreciate the sunset at Jiankou and other parts that haven't become scenic spots. The problem is that these sections are much dangerous because there are no protection facilities.
