About:Exit Regulations of China

Does anyone know if babies have the same allowance as adults when taking cash out of china?

We have a new born and it would be useful for us to use her allowance of 20,000 RMB to take cash out of the country, if she has one that is.

Seems slightly dubious using one's own baby as a cash mule but it would really solve a problem for us.
Thanks!

Herbert, the rule just states that every passenger can take no more than 20000 RMB or 5000 USD out of China. It doesn't specify whether it is limited to adults only. To play it safe, you may bring a cheque instead.

You know there is another rule, which regulates that passengers can take 1.5L liquor or wine into PRC. However, teenagers below 16 years old are not allowed. I am not sure if they apply the same rule for carrying cash.
