uk requirements for chinese visa

if i understand correctly to obtain a chinese entry permit i need to provide proof of flight in and out of china as well as proof of accommodation for the duration of my stay-is this correct?......my only concern was i want to spend a month in china, my outline plane was to spend a week in 4 different destinations-ie..beijing, guangzhou, shanghai, zhengzhou for example, but as ive never been to china or indeed any of these cities i may need longer in 1 city than another so have a problem if i have to pre-book all hotels like ive been told you have to do......can you please clarify or send me the correct requirements i need for my entry permit. thank you

Paul, it's right that you need to provide proof of round-way flight tickets and hotel booking records, but you don't have to book all hotels. You can just book the hotels where you stay in the first two cities.
