How to apply for Business Visa for China as US National in Tokyo?

Hello. I need to apply for a Business type to travel to Shanghai. I am a US National and am in Tokyo on business. I have all required documents and have completed the Application Form. Can you let me know where to submit my application and if you accept third party national applications? Thank you!

Lee, you need to visit Chinese consulate that has jurisdiction over the area where you stay. It takes around 4 working days to deal with your application.

Wonderful. So the guidance under the 'Notice on Application' for non-Japanese passport holders, "they are required to apply through a travel agency with a copy of the Japan Entry Record on their passport" doesn't apply? Thanks again for your advice and guidance in this time sensitive matter!

Lee, according to the website of the embassy, you can submit the application directly to the consular office.
