About:China Visa Exemption

will I get a visa at the airport for a sightseeing tour of the city?

I'm flying from New York to Kathmandu and vice versa with a 12-hour layover in Guangzhou on my way back from Kathmandu. I am a Nepali citizen and a Permanent Resident of US. Thanks

Yes, you can exit the airport for a short trip. However, you need to apply for the stay permit when you arrive. It's actually a stamp on your passport and you can get it for free.
