About:Hong Kong Octopus Card

1 week in HK with my wife : may i know, which pass should we get?

Hi, I will be coming over to HK this year end for a week with my wife. I have some questions that would need your advise and consultation :-

i) Which MTR Card should we get?
ii) Where can we get it when we arrive HKIA?
iii) How much should we be depositing based on your experience?

1. According to your situation, you can buy Standard Octopus Card.

2. Upon landing, you can easily find the MTR service counter to get a card based on the clear English sign.
Notably, you two cannot share one card. So you need to buy two cards totally.

3. For each, the deposit is HK$50 and the initial stored value is HK$100. You said that you will stay in there a week. So it's suggested to recharge HK$ 100 to 200 for each card (except initial stored value). BTW, the unused value can be returned.
