About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does the ticket need to be a round trip or can I buy each sector of the trip individually?

Im planning to fly from korea to shanghai and then to hong kong.
Also, can I just stay overnight in Hong Kong? Does it need to be a long stay?
Thanks.

Tim, it doesn't require that you have to buy connecting air tickets. Two separate air tickets are fine. However, you have to get the tickets in hand when you board the plane. For USA citizens, they can stay in HK as long as 90 days without any entry permits.
