Xian to Yan'an Hukou

Re: Code: XA24 (Yan'an)
My wife and I wish to visit Yan'an and Hukou but we only have two days in Xian: August 24 & 25, our flight depart from Xian International Airport on August 25 at 7.00 pm. As such the abovementioned Code: XA24 tour, we will not be able to come back from Yan'an in time to catch the International flight. Do you have other tour route which can fit into our 2 days tight schedule? Thanking you in advance for your assistance.

Your schedule is indeed too tight to visit both Yan'an and Hukou. The bus from Hukou back to Yan'an departs at 13:00 and 14:00 and the journey takes around 3 hours. If you take the train leaves at 16:40, you will then get to Xian at around 19:00. There are direct buses available from Hukou back to Xian, but the journey takes about 5 hours. It is impossble to catch your international flight intraday. You may consider visiting Hukou on Aug 24, in this case, you will need to get to Yan'an on Aug 23 so as to catch the regular bus next morning. Or, you will have to charter a private car.

Sorry that I have no idea on the exact price for private car. I just checked online, the approximate price is about CNY350-CNY400 per car for round trip between Yan'an and Hukou. This information is only for your reference.

Hi Elena, what about long distant direct bus from Xian to Hukou? Can we make it in one day?

No. I do not think you can make it one day by taking the direct bus from Xian to Hukou, which departs at 08:00. As far as I know it takes around five hours driving from Xian to Hukou, however, the only one back bus departing from Hukou at 13:00. So you can not catch this one.
