Guangzhou South Train station to airport travel time

Hello everyone. Which is the fastest way to the airport from south train station ? I have a tight window for connecting flight, so time is priority over price. Will the metro/subway be my best choice ? I arrive at 2.30 P.M. Is it rush hour ?

Taking a taxi is a bit faster, the travel time is about 60 mins. And the fare is about CNY160 – 170.

If taking the subway, the travel time is about 70 mins, and the fare is CNY9. The route is like this: take the subway line 2 from the south railway station to Jiahe Wanggang Station, where you can transfer to Line 3 to the airport directly.

At 2:30pm, it is not the rush time.
