Short visit in Shanghai before going on to Hong Kong

Hi, I'm from Perth, Australia and am curious about the finer details of the 72-hour transit.

I want to book a return Qantas flight from Sydney-Shanghai departing on 26 September, but returning on 4 October.

I only want to stay in Shanghai for 2/3 nights to visit a friend so I only need the 72 hour visa.

I will then book a return flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong, but on the return leg (HKG-PVG) I will only be transiting to the QF flight to SYD, although I'd probably have to pick up bags in Shanghai to check them into the QF flight.

Would I still be eligible for the 24 hour visa on the transit leg in Shanghai airport?

Yes, you are still eligible for the 72-hour free transit policy on your way back.

Hi ill visit jeju but my stopover is podong pvg airport for 4 hrs...do i need to apply transit visa...ill stay 5 days in jeju south korea...its a visa free in korea

Joy, you mean you will fly from Philippines to Jeju via PVG, right? If so, you don't need the transit permit as you can make use of the 24-hour direct transit policy.
