From Hong Kong with Beijing, Damian and Shanghai As part of the cruise itinerary then South Korea as the next stop.  What kind of china visa should my brothers and I get?

Susan, did you mean Dalian or Damian? If your ship starts from Hk, stops by Beijing, Dalian and Shanghai, then they should apply for multiple L types if they plan to visit three places during their short transit.
