I'm afraid not. Actually you do not need to get the residence permit. The S2 type can be used as a short-term residence permit.

actually this is our 2nd time to apply for visa and I was hoping that we can get again for S1 type because we don't have enough time at first...so we decided to apply again and they just issued as an S2, by this time can we still proceed to apply for residency?

I'm afraid you cannot apply for residency with the S2 type. Even though you can apply, the validity of the residence permit will be consitent with the allowed stay duration on the S2.
