Visit spouse in China

My spouse is a PRC and I would like to visit and stay with her for a period of time. How do I apply for the VISA? What is the Maximum period of stay is allowed? What supporting documents do I need? What is the processing time and the fee?

Hi Steven! I recommmend you apply for the Q type. Under the Q category, there are two types: Q1 and Q2. Q1 allows a maximim stay period of one year or so while Q2 allows a stay of not more than 180 days.

Fisrt, you need to prepare all necessary papers, such as your passport, a photocopy of the passport info page, a properly completed application form, a color bare-headed photo taken within six months, a photocopy of your wife's ID card, an invitation letter from her, and your marriage certificate. Then take all the listed document to the CVASC and submit them.

It takes four working days for the processing, at the price of 25 (entry permit fee) +40 (CVASC service fee) = 65 Singporean dollars.
