About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

Laos passport holder Australian PR

Hi my husband and I wish to travel to HK. He holds a Laos passport but is an Australian permanent resident. I understand he requires a visa on arrival. Could you please confirm processing time and how do u lodge the application from Sydney? Is there a mailing address or need to lodge in person? Also what is the visa fee? Any amount of funds as a requirement for bank account? Thanks

Amy, if the consulate itself deals with the application, the process takes four working days. If the application is to be transferred to HK for processing, the process takes one month or so. The embassy does not provide mailing service, so you need to lodge in person. The fee is 30 dollars. In case that the application needs to be sent to HK, you need to pay 20 dollars additionally. There is no specific amount requirement for the fund in your bank account.
