I am an American citizen with an American passport. I got a job in Beijing but my visa expires soon and I have to go back to America to apply again. I have a spouse visa for India. Can I apply for a Z type from India?

It's likely that you can apply from India, but you need to submit a certificate from the US embassy in India if the spouse visa is only valid for a short term. Anyway, it's hard to apply the Z type in a third coutnry. If possible, please apply for it in your own country.
