West peak north peak hike easier? how long?

I was planning to take the west cable car up hike to the north peak and then take the north cable car down. Assuming reasonable fitness how long would the hike take?
It would be an easier hike west to north than north to west because the west is higher? Is that a reasonable assumption?

Many thanks.

Yes. West Peak is higher than North Peark, but I do not think it is easier to climbing down the mountain than climbing up. Actually I suggest you take cable car up to North Peark and hike around 2 hours to reach West Peak, and then take cable car there down to the mountain. I think this is reasonable and many travelers choosing this route. Hope it helps you.

Hello. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I was on the western cable car when I read it!! Ha ha ha. The trek, if anyone is interested, from west to north was seemingly all down hill. Also no ladders (all by passed). It took me 1hr 30mins. Also, the green minibus (from huashan north station and back to the huashan entrance was free....good value). Hahaha. Also it was hot on the mountain today...short pants I should have worn. Oh well. And buy the cloth gloves for 2rbn...well worth it.
