About:Mount Huashan

Trains to Beijing and luggage storage availability

I am trying to visit Mt. Huashan while traveling from Xi'an to Beijing. The goal is to make a stop for the day but not stay overnight if at all possible. Do you know if there is any secure place to leave any luggage while hiking the mountain? I saw above so,someone said 10 yen to store baggage at ticket office but is that the ticket office of the train station or the ticket office at the mountain.

Also do you know the frequency/trains from HS North Station to Beijing? I am hoping to catch an afternoon train after hiking the mountain.

The best mode must be taking a bullet train from Yihcang East Railway Station to CQ North Railway Station.

I suggest you deposit your luggage in the Hushan North Railway Station. When you finished the trip, you can collect your luggage before take the train.
There are 8 trains available at 08:09 (normalspeed), 08:27, 09:53, 11:42, 15:16, 15:51(normal speed), 18:29, 21:53 (normal speed).
Apart from the normal speed trains, all the rest are bullet trains.

Hey Henry!

Thanks for the speedy reply. I'm a little confused though, as when I looked up where Yicang and CQ are they were both in the opposite direction of where I'm going to travel.

I will be in Xi'an and then on my way to Beijing I would like to stop at the mountain. I know there are bullet trains that go from Xi'an, but I do not know if there are any bullet trains from there to Beijing?

Do you know if I can take a bullet train from there to Beijing? Or do I need to take the bullet train from there back to Xi'an and then get a different train to Beijing?

Hi, Leigh. You can store your luggage at the Tourists Service Center at the foot of the mountain and have a free travel. And I’d tell you high speed trains from HS North Station to Beijing are available. So if you will take high speed train from Xian to the mountain, store your luggage at the HS North. After visiting, go there to retrieve them and hope on the train to Beijing.
