About:Shaolin Temple

Transport to Shaolin Temple

I am visiting China next month (July). My family and I are staying 1 week each in Xian - Beijing - Shanghai. We would like to see a Kung Fu demonstration at the famous temple, but which one is the nearest city; Xian, Beijing, or Shanghai, and how can we get there Also, can we actually see martial arts demonstrations, how long is the journey, and what are the entrance fees? Is it worth a visit? Many thanks in advance for any tips.

Xian is closer to the temple. From Xian North Railway Staiton, you can take a bullet train to Luoyang Longmen Station. The duration is about 1.5 hours, and the fare is CNY174.5 for the second class seat and CNY279.5 for the first class seat.

From the Longmen Railway Station, you can take the public bus No. 77 or 33 to Luoyang Tarin Station. Walk to the nearby Bus Station to take a direct bus to the temple.

In the temple, you can see the amazing Kungfu Show, and the entrance fee of the temple is CNY100. It is rally worthy a visit. There you can witness the essence of Chinese Martial arts.
