About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

do i have to have my visa for thailand prior to applying for the 72 hour transit?

My destination for this trip is Chiang Mai, Thailand and I had planned on getting my visa for there upon arrival.. do I now need to get my visa prior to arrival in order to have the document for applying for the 72 hour free transit while in Shanghai?

No, you don't need to get it prior to applying for the 72hrs free transit service.
