Safety and Living cost for family stay in Guangzhou

In 2016, My company plans to relocate me in that city, Tianhe district. I want to know
1. The living costs for 2 people if I prefer small 1bedroom, kitchen and hall apartment(1BHK) in descent area. And also I would like to know how safe it is for foreigners? Is Tianhe district expensive being commercial area? What other areas I can consider for family and near to Tianhe?
2. I am pure vegeterian, do not eat meat and eggs, how is the food market, would I get sufficient vegetables? Where?
