Train ticket for Chengdu airport station

Firstly, I’d tell you that your travel partner can buy a train ticket for you with your original passport. The ticket is needed BEFORE boarding the train. You must arrive at the train station before the train’s departure (15-20min in advance) for check-in, when the ticket is needed. When boarding the train, the staff also would check your ticket.

Is it possible for someone to tell me how I get to the train station if I need to transfer terminals? Do I exit my terminal and then walk or take a bus? Or do I transfer terminals inside the airport?

Which train station are you referring to? The airport shuttle bus line 2 leads to the main train station, namely, the North Station, and line 3 goes to East and South Train Stations.

The shuttle buses stops at both terminals. Despite the terminal, you can find the bus easily by following the clear signages. And yes, terminal transfer should be finished inside the airport.
