You should apply for a tourist L type entry permit before your departure. Your passport, passport copy, recent photo, application form, and an invitation letter from your bf will be needed.

I got you, but I will not be visa free? I mean i thought i am only going to buy ticket and my canadian entry permit will save me from processing chinese L type?

Your Canadian entry permit is useless when you apply for Chinese entry permit. You need to prepare all required documents and then wait for the approval of Chinese consular officers. Sometimes, those who have all required documents are even refused.
