About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Got 6 months residential permit on Z type visa even though i have 1 year work permit

Hello i got residence permit for 6 months even though i have 1 year work permit. this is my first time getting Z type converted in to residential permit. i just came to china one month back. what could be the reason for this? And how can i renew after 6 months? if i want to renew my residence permit i just left 5 and half months work permit with me.

Please help me to get detailed info,I much thankful to this site as i got all the information for my z type.

Sai, your case is rare. Usually, the officer will give a one-year or two-year validity of residence permit according to the term of your labor contract and work permit. So I have no idea why they only give you six months. Perhaps because you didn't sign a long-term work contract with your employer? Anyway, after six months, you should take your work permit, contract, and passport to the office and renew your residence permit. I think the officer may give you another six months again.

thanks for your information,yes i just got update from my office that they showed 5 months of probation period in my contract.so guess that was the problem i guess.
