About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

transforming a tourist visa into a residencial once married to alocal woman????

If I marry a Chinese woman once in China but having just a tourist visa, can I ask then, for residency? Or will I have to leave the country and ask for another type of Visa? And how long all this process could take. Thank you for any good answer.

You may try to convert the tourist visa to a Q type after marrying to a Chinese woman in a China PSB Entry and Exit Administration Office. Usually, it takes at most 7 days. If fails, you need to try other ways. As I know, they don't give tourist visa presently.
