Further question about picking up SAR passport at the D.C Embassy

Further to my question above, I really need a firm answer from the D.C Embassy but it is impossible to call them at all. My passport is ready to be pick up in the end of May but now I cannot make a trip to D.C till the late JULY! It means the passport will be with them for about 1.5 months!! I am so afraid that they will send my passport back to Hong Kong. Is there any chance, a fax, an email that I can reach them and ask them to hold it for me?

You mentioned that they will "normally" keep for a few months but this is not a definitely way of doing it. I head that they do things slightly different in different location. I just want to make it formal and request them to hold it for me. Is there any way to do it? Thanks a lot.

Michelle, I personally think the embassy will not send your passport back to Hong Kong. You can contact the consular department to put forward with your request for keeping your passport.
