About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Philippines - Shanghai - Beijing - Russia

I'm flying from the Philippines to Russia through China. But my flight goes from the Philippines to Shanghai (Pudong International Airport), then after 7 hours I'm flying to Beijing from another airport in Shanghai (Hongqiao International Airport). From Beijing flying to Russia, time between flights 8 hours. So my whole trip: Philippines - Shanghai - Beijing - Russia.

Am I eligible for the 72 hour visa-free transit in Beijing despite already transiting at Shanghai? Or it could be problematic for me?

AJ, you are not eligible for the 72-hour free transit because you transit in two Chinese cities, but it's OK, you qualify for the 24-hour direct tranit policy, so you still don't need to apply for the transit permit in advance.
