About:Embassy of Iraq in China

Dear Sir/Ma'am, I am from Iraq, I finished my PhD degree from one Chinese university.

i still hold student visa. I'm gonna apply for job, so it mean i should change my student type to working type. my inquiry:
1- how long will take to get working type?
2- I should get my working type from outside china?
3- I can get my working type from macao or HK or any country near by china such as Malaysia? or i should go back to Iraq to get the working type?

1. You should first get a work permit, and then apply for the working type. The whole process may take about one month.
2. You can try to convert your X type into a Z type within mainland China. If you are rejected, then you have to apply for it outside.
3. To play safe, you are suggested to apply from your home country. Hong Kong and Macau are not good choices. Perhaps you can also apply from Malaysia.
