About:Beijing Capital Airport T3

I'll be arriving at PEK 11:10 AM via CA , my connection for Newark, New Jersey leaves at 3:45 PM.

My question is , do I need to go to baggage claim , pick up my luggage then check-in? Usually, I don't do that on layover. My luggage goes directly to my final destination. Since I'm reading here that we have to go through Immigration and Custom inspection again....does that mean that my luggage stops at PEK too? Thanks in advance.

Yes, all international transfer passengers have to go through the immigration. Some airlines will handle the luggages for their passengers, while some not.

Which airlines will you use to Newark? For most airlines, it is no need to claim baggage and the luggage will be directly transported to the final destination. While some airlines may have no this service in PEK. You'd better inquire the Transfer Counter upon landing to confirm this matter.

I'll be connecting with United Airlines to Newark. I hope they're one of those airlines that takes care of baggage. Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.

Well then, your lugagges will be automatically transported to Newark. You don't need to handle that. Don't worry!
