About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am i eligible for 72 HOURS VISA FREE transit in Beijing?

Hi
im a Canadian citizen, I will be travelling in Asia for one month . my first flight is Toronto-Shanghai(3 hours waiting)- Bangkok. my return flight is Shanghai-Los Angeles-Toronto. i wanna visit Beijing. I'm planning to take a flight to Beijing once im done in Southeast Asia and take another flight to catch my flight in Shanghai . im not interested in staying in Shanghai more than 6 hours. i just wanna visit Beijing.

Jasony, if you add Beijing during your transit, then you need to apply for a L type before you fly to Beijing. 72 hours free transit doesn't allow passnegers to transit more than two Chinese cities.

Thanks for the reply , what if i fly to Beijing after im done in southeast Asia then fly to Osaka, Japan for 1 week and fly back to Shanghai to catch my flight to Los Angeles? would i be eligible for 72 hours transit?
