About:Chinese Etiquette

I am seeing a chinese man that I knew 9yrs ago, he has been married & seperated from his wife

I now have a grandson the same age as his son, I have never met any of his family but do want to include his son in some of our family activities. however he always says his son should met me 1st before my daughter & grandson is there. any reason for this? As my grandson is lonely & would like another play mate.

Mia, according to what you said, you must be older than him, right? I think this is the reason. You know, Chinese people still observe their old traditions. One rule is "Respect for seniority". Because you are older than him, his son should visit you first to show his respect. It's a bit rude if his son meets your duaghter and grandson first.
