Abid, what do you do in PRC? What kind of resident permit do you have? If you work or study legally, then you can help your father to acquire a S1 type. It usually allows your father to stay with you until you finish the contract or your study. In order to apply for S1 for your father, you need to help him prepare these documents:
1. invitation letter from your employer, school or duly authorized Chinese unit
2 invitation letter from you
3. copies of your pasport and residence permit
4. kinship certificate, both original and copy versions. They have to be authenticated by your Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese embassy
5. health certificate authorized by your Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese embassy
