what is the process to get into china for the weekend?

Anthony, then you need to apply for a tourist type from the office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC in HK before you go. You need to submit your passport, application form, a recent passport photo, round-trip air ticket and hotel booking.
