China domestic flight carry-on baggage rule

Can I know whether can I take up to a China domestic flight plane one messenger bag weighing 4 kg and one tote bag weighing 2 kg? I do not want to check-in my messenger bag. I am travelling with GX Airlines and OKAir.

Chyan, usually the weight limit is 5 kilograms. And you need to confirm with your airlines if there is a limit for how many pieces of luggage you can take.

Is messenger bag considered a luggage in China? I am not bringing a proper luggage for check-in. Just a messenger bag and a light tote bag. The tote bag contains my travel documents and 2 to 3 magazines.

If so, I think you can take them both. However, you'd better call your airline to confirm the limit for carry-on luggage. According to my knowledge, it is 5 kilograms for many airline.

By the way, you must take economy class seat, right? If so, I think I gave you the right information.

I am taking along one SMALL backpack load weighing 3.5 kg plus tote bag load weighing 1 kg. Total less than 5 kg. It should be acceptable for bringing up to the aircraft cabin, right? Or does CAAC regulate only one luggage only maximum 5 kg for domestic flights?

Chyan, according to what I know, many airlines regulate that passengers who take economy class seats are just allowed to take one piece of carry-on luggage. Anyway, you should make a call to your airline to confirm what regulation they have.
