What's really going on because I am ready to walk

I am 1/21/81 and he is 5/13/72. We were both very optimistic individuals coming out of unsuccessful relationships when we met. We went on a few dates and decided to give a relationship a go. Two years in he encountered some hard times. I stepped up and took care of everything for three years. He finally has a job but is now pessimistic and criticizes me and everything I do. Even if I do it the way he wants it's still not good enough. He has even begun to tell and argue with me constantly. I told him he has to go recently and he is now back at his parents. He tried to modify his behavior but every time something doesn't go his way he reverts back to this mean spirited person.

As a Rat, he is concerned about money, security and love- not always in that order. As a Taurus, stability and security are very important to him. Basically, you did too much for him. Let him take responsibility for his work and finances; it's actually loving because it gives him both control and freedom. He will begin to feel more stable and in-control, and thus his critical spirit will dissipate. As an Aquarius Monkey, you probably feel like you can solve every problem and love relationship, but you actually cannot. You have to accept that people often need to take some of the responsibility and need sense they have a say in the decisions made. I would bet that your Taurus Rat is actually very good at showing you his love in his deeds, and you might need to remind him that critical words undermine his loving deeds.
