About:Chinese Consulate in New York

my son's work visa expires when i am visiting him. Will i be able to get my application?

I am staying with him.

Deb, are you planning to get the S1 type? If so, it's possible that your application will be denied. You'd better apply for the S1 type after your son has renewed his Z type and residence permit.
