About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need to get a normal or a transit visa. Or could I get with an application for 'Stay Permit'?

I fly into Guangzhou at 0555 on 26th May. I fly out of Guangzhou at 1250 on 26th May and land in Urumchi at 1820. I fly out of Urumchi at 0810 on 27th May. Therefore I am in China for 26 1/4 hours.

John, it’s possible that you can make use of the 24hour direct transit policy. The “24 hour period” often starts from the midnight after passengers’ arrival, so you can actually stay longer than 24 hours. In this case, you can only apply for a temporary stay permit at Guangzhou airport.
