public transport to panda base + giant buddha

Question

Hi, What is the most convenient way to get to the Giant Panda Research Base and Giant Buddha in Leshan from Chengdu by public transport? And is it recommended to buy tickets to the Panda Base in advance? I am travelling end May. Many thanks in advance.

After you finish the Giant Buddha, you can walk to Dafosi Station to take the bus No. 13 to Xiaoba Bus Station, where you can take a bus back to Xinnanmen Bus Station. Upon arrival, take a taxi to the base at a cost of CY45 around. Yes, you’d better buy the tickets in advance through your hotel or book online so as not to wait in line for long time.
