Gluten-Free Soy Sauce

My wife has a wheat allergy. Since soy sauce typically has wheat, can she bring a bottle of Tamari (gluten-free) soy sauce to carry to restaurants in China? Do restaurants in China typically carry Tamari? Will she have much issue with purchasing meals that are gluten-free? Is there a particular way to request gluten-free meals?

Hi, you can take that into China, but it has to be taken as check-in luggage. Also for gluten-free food, it is a little hard to get in a Chinese restaurant, but you can easily get the materials in the supermarket and cook on your own.

As I know, most Chinese restaurant has vinegar instead of soy sauce. But if you want, just ask the waiter to take it for you.
