i'm in trouble about transit permit, please help me

i will fly with china eastern from kl malaysia to canada via shanghai pudong, at first no problem but suddenly i recieved an email saying that my flight will delay 1 day from the original flight scedule. So i have to transit in shanghai for about 1 day. My flight will arrive at shanghai pudong on 13th june 16:35 n the connecting flight to kl malaysia is on 14th june 19:25. My question is do i need to apply for a visa? Or is there any other method so that i dont have to apply for it

Iza, as far as I see, you don't need the transit permit as the 24-hour direct transit policy applies to your situation, even though you actual layover time is more than 24 hours. Generally speaking, the "24 hour period" starts from the midnight following your arrival. You can confirm this with the Shanghai Immigration Office.
