Visa for American Citizens holding an OCI living in India to travel to Shanghai China

I am an American Citizen holding an OCI living in Mumbai, India currently and wish to travel to Shanghai for 45 days with an F type.
I would like to gain some clarification on the following topics
1) How long after I apply will I get entry permit? I require it on an urgent basis, i.e. by June so what will the procedure be?
2) How much will the cost be and by which banking method must I pay?
Thank you for your help.

Ananya, if you just come for traveling purpose, then you'd better apply for a L type instead of F type. Usually, it takes four working days to deal with your application. If you require for the express service, it takes two working days. However, you need to get the permission from the consular office that you need to apply via express service.

If you submit your application to Mumbai CVASC center, it costs Rs 11130. You can only pay in cash.

Actually I will be coming for a summer cultural exchange (volunteer job) so they suggested an F type. Which one would I require?

The F type is the right choice for you.
