About:Kunming Travel

What is best way to go from Kunming to Xining (Qinghai) by train?

If your map is current it looks like I have to go a bit east, perhaps to Xian first, then west to Xining? Does that sound right?

This is no direct train between these two places.
You can make a transfer in Xian as mentioned. For reference, other good transfer cities inlude Chengdu and Lanzhou.
